Objectives of the FLOODmaster Study Program

Main interest of the study program is the provision of a comprehensive knowledge on complex interactions of an integrated flood risk management. A full-year lecture cycle treats basics in natural and engineering science as well as findings in the economic, social and planning work fields. The lectures range from global and transnational considerations to regional aspects and local observations - esp. highlighted by a fieldtrip of several days to a large water catchment. The program's structure, the study material and the entire communication on dates, deadlines etc. is provided on the internet platform (Intranet). Both the speakers and students groups are multinational. For early 2010 the publication of an accompanying textbook is scheduled.
