New date: TUD Lectures on 09.04.24: Highly automated driving - a contribution to inclusion in the field of mobility
The Technische Universität Dresden (TUD) is actively committed to promoting inclusive mobility and cordially invites interested parties and experts to the TUD Lectures on the topic of "Highly Automated Driving". The event will take place on April 9, 2024 at 18:00 in the Citizens' Laboratory of the state capital Dresden (Kreuzstraße 2, 01067 Dresden). As a very special highlight of this TUD Lecture, an automated test vehicle will be exhibited and explained, which has already been used for passenger transportation in Leipzig.
Highly automated driving opens up numerous opportunities to improve mobility participation, especially in rural regions. But how must networks, infrastructures and vehicles be designed so that this potential can be successfully realized? Several projects of the Chair of Vehicle Mechatronics are dedicated to these questions. Some of them will be presented as part of the TUD Lectures, with a special focus on inclusion.
Speaker Dr. Steffen Kutter, Head of the Automated Driving Group at the "Friedrich List" Faculty of Transport and Traffic Sciences at TUD, will present the latest developments and challenges in the field of highly automated driving. Using the ABSOLUT and WALEMOBASE projects as examples, he will focus in particular on the interface between technology and users for the presentation of inclusive mobility in suburban and rural areas, for example in Lusatia.
About the TUD Lectures
In 2021, the Department of University Culture launched the TUD Lectures event series, in which experts from various disciplines at TU Dresden take a close look at current topics. After short presentations, the experts exchange ideas with interested members of the city's population.
The TUD Lecture on 17 January 2024 is one of four events in the series "United in Diversity - Perspectives on Inclusion and Successful Coexistence". It is open to the public, will be held in German and admission is free. Registration is not necessary. Written interpretation is provided at all events and the venues are always barrier-free.
