Airport Operations
The research area "Airport Operations" deals mainly with challenges situated in the field of Operations Research. Building on process definitions obtained from former projects in ground and terminal operations, the current research focuses on the development of tactical decision support systems. Such systems are supposed to increase the decision robustness of operations controllers by calculating optimal interventions in the case of weather or schedule disruptions. Frequently applied optimization methods comprise vehicle routings as well as resource scheduling and allocation procedures.
