Opening of the doctoral procedure
Doctoral procedures are initiated at the request of the doctoral candidate. The relevant requirements are set out in Section 9 of the Doctoral Degree Regulations.
For doctoral projects already in progress at the time the doctoral regulations of 14.09.2023 come into force, in which a decision has already been made on acceptance as a doctoral candidate, the Doctoral Committee may decide up to six months after entry into force (until 20.03.2024), at the request of the doctoral candidate, to complete the doctoral procedure on the basis of the provisions of § 9 of the doctoral degree regulations of the "Friedrich List" Faculty of Traffic and Transport Sciences of January 15, 2015.
Opening
The Doctoral Committee decides on the opening of the doctoral procedure within two months of receipt of the complete application in accordance with Section 9 (1) of the Doctoral Degree Regulations. If the doctoral committee opens the doctoral procedure, it appoints the doctoral committee and the assessors in accordance with Section 10 (6) of the Doctoral Degree Regulations. The notification of the opening of the doctoral procedure to the doctoral candidates also provides information on the composition of the doctoral committee and the assessors.
