Short Facts

Specializations

With its generous elective area, the Diplom program Industrial Engineering and Management gives you excellent opportunities to specialize according to your individual interests. The elective area allows for an almost unrestricted combination of modules of engineering and business administration and economics.  You can also assign modules flexibly to specializations, among which there is a wide choice.

In Business Administration and Economics, you dispose of the following specializations:

Accounting & Finance, Advanced Data Analytics, Business Processes and Systems, Digital Business Engineering, Economic Policy and Political Economy, Financial Economics and Global Markets.

Learning and Human Resources Management,  Management & Marketing,  Operations and Logistics Management, Environmental Management & Energy Policy,

In Engineering, there are even 18 spezializations:

Work Systems and Organization, Civil Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Power Engineering, Electrical instrumentation and microtechnology, Power Engineering, Wood and Fiber Materials Engineering, Hydroscience, Information Technology, Food Engineering,

Lightweight construction and plastics technology, Aerospace Engineering, Product Development, Production and Logistics, Production Engineering, Textile mechanical engineering and high-performance materials engineering, Processing Machinery and Technology, Traffic Engineering.

Study Abroad

Consider studying abroad for a semester or longer? No issue, the Faculty of Business and Economics maintains numerous contacts and cooperations with foreign universities. Just in the Erasmus program, we partner currently with more than 60 universities. In addition, there are contacts at the level of the faculty and the TU Dresden with universities from virtually all parts of the world.

Learning agreements and the flexible electives area make the recognition of examinations abroad simple. The study track International is of particular interest here:  students completing a part of their studies abroad enjoy greater freedom in the elective area.

Financial support is available as well. In addition to the PROMOS scholarships awarded at university level, the Prof. Endriss Award sponsors specifically students of the Faculty of Business and Economics staying abroad.

After Graduation

Graduates of Industrial Engineering and Management are interdisciplinary and wanted in many sectors. Depending on the specialization in engineering, they are ready for managerial positions in industry, trade, consumer goods, and service. Frequently, they assume interdepartmental jobs in logistics, marketing and sales, materials management, product management, accounting, controlling, production and corporate management.

Location

At the Faculty of Business and Economics, you are right on the main campus of TU Dresden in Südvorstadt. The chairs, the dean's office, and the study office locate in the Georg-Schumann-Bau and the adjacent Hülße-Bau. Also, many of your courses take place in these buildings. Engineering Chairs, classrooms, and labs are in walking distance. All premises are easy to reach by public transport or bicycle.
