The roots of CDD

In 2005, the "Zentrum für Demographischen Wandel (ZDW)" was founded as a central ​​ scientific unit at the TU Dresden. It has processed successfully a considerable number of projects, studies and requests regarding the demographic change. After 10 years, the centre started to re-orient itself, and in 2016, the cooperation of numerous representatives of all five schools of TU Dresden led to the newly named competence centre, “Center for Demography and Diversity (CDD)", to indicate the new focus on mutual impact of population development and heterogeneity.
