Chemistry of coating materials

Objectives and content

Students will be familiar with the chemical principles for explaining the properties and use of coating materials and their components, particularly in the field of organic chemistry. Students will be able to derive and justify the reciprocal relationships between general and organic chemistry in the coating system and explain the influences of the components on the properties of the coating. They will be able to derive consequences for the design of teaching and learning processes in the Department of Color Technology, Interior Design and Surface Technology.

The module comprises lectures (2 SWS), seminars (2 SWS), practicals (1 SWS) and self-study.
