Color and coating technology
Objectives and content
Starting from the basics of coating and auxiliary materials with their binders as well as solvents and thinners, the essential properties and possible uses of colorants, fillers, additives and auxiliary materials are explored in depth. In addition to the development of economic and ecological relationships with regard to the procurement, processing and disposal of coating materials, their use on various substrates forms part of the basic technological knowledge.
The knowledge gained enables students to analyze and plan aspects of paint and coating technology and enables them to independently evaluate substrates and make considerations regarding possible coatings.
