#12 Children's and youth rights
There is a lot of talk about justice and solidarity during the pandemic - often referring to solidarity with at-risk groups, the elderly and those who were previously ill. The rights of children and young people are regularly only considered after a delay. They are the last to be vaccinated and will therefore be affected by the pandemic the longest. We at JoDDiD therefore think it is a good time to talk to young people about their rights once again.
Material on children's and young people's rights exists in various forms, some of which are excellent. We no longer need to invent this and it can be used as a good starting point for the development of offers.

The bpb (Federal Agency for Civic Education) has developed a leaflet on the topic of "Children's Rights" that can be put to good use. It presents a hidden object picture on the front where children can discover the topics of the articles on children's rights. On the back, the articles of the convention are placed in child-friendly language so that they can be matched to the illustrations in the hidden object picture.
The Laatzen Youth Office has explained children's rights in a beautifully illustrated multilingual material.
The German Children's Rights Forum offers further training for educational professionals on the subject of children's and young people's rights.
