Decision traffic light
At JoDDiD, we are fans of tuning machines. We have already developed our wonderful voting tubes, which can be borrowed from us in various sizes. If you want to find out more about them, just take a look here.
Today's idea came to us at a place that most of us probably walk past every day: the pedestrian crossing. This is where all kinds of people meet, who normally just walk past each other and don't make contact. This could change with a small coordination tool. All it needs is a traffic light phase and a voting question.
A question or statement appears on a display at the traffic lights, to which approval or rejection can be signaled. Whenever the traffic light is red, such a question appears. You can vote on the question straight away, using your own body. When the traffic light turns green, you're ready to go. If you move slowly, you are in favor. Those who move faster are against. After crossing the traffic lights, nothing stands in the way of a short conversation about your own response and that of others. These brief moments of exchange would be a wonderful side effect.
Of course, the possible answers could be extended to include jumping, clapping, standing or walking backwards. With this modification, in addition to yes/no questions, even multiple-choice questions at the pedestrian traffic lights would be conceivable. It would also be great to open up the traffic light's question pool. Questions or statements for the traffic light can be sent to an e-mail address and will be visible on the traffic light after a short check.
