#56 Anger workshops
Politics has a lot to do with emotions. Anger and resentment, for example, are often the starting point for engagement. Political education has long overlooked this. So why not offer anger workshops so that people learn to take their anger to the right people? A nice first approach could be found via slips of paper or posters on which all participants first collect what makes them angry (or - possibly in a second step - what gives them hope for the future). A public punching bag (see https://www.boredpanda.com/public-punching-bags-manhattan-ne w-york-donttakethisthewrongway/) could also be offered or other playful elements that can be used to make anger visible. Following on from this, however, the main point would be to analyze a few examples of meaningful ways to address (political) anger. Who needs to know about this or that problem, who can solve it, and what can be done to improve the situation. Methodologically, this work could also be based on the tried and tested format of the future workshop.
If you would first like to get to grips with the problem and find out what emotions have to do with political education, then we have a nice evening school play for you. You can find it at here.
