#59 Blackout social training
Many people are currently thinking about what they would do in the event of a blackout. These thoughts are not entirely unfounded. The Federal Office for Civil Protection also advises people to prepare for such an eventuality. However, thoughts usually revolve around personal needs. How many supplies do I need? Do I have candles in the house or batteries? Where would I get water from? There is less focus on the question of how we can organize ourselves as a society, in the district or even in the neighbourhood, or how we can shape our communication. However, this is precisely what will ultimately determine how well we would cope with such a (initially fictitious) challenge.
We at JoDDiD have already invented the idea of "#37 Political Survival Training". However, we want to emphasize the approach conceived once again and are therefore considering whether we can offer a social training in winter - following the general trend of thinking about the blackout - in which we can think together about what tasks people from the field of political education would have to deal with in such a disaster. Can we help to organize groups, promote coordination and self-organization processes and what would make sense in terms of preparedness from this perspective? We believe there is a need for such events. Didactically, this could be implemented with the help of simulation games or scenario techniques, for example.
