The portfolio
Guiding principles and components
A portfolio is a targeted and structured documentation of student learning progress (subject content and competencies) and their assessment by lecturers. It can relate to up to two thematically linked courses.
Several written achievements or recorded oral achievements are collected in a portfolio. Examples of such achievements are Bibliography, fact paper, blackboard notes, seminar paper, experience reports, strategy paper, questions to a text, preparation of an interview questionnaire, presentation, moderation, group discussion, etc. The exact composition of the portfolio varies depending on the module and course.
Contents, assessment and organizational matters
The work to be completed within a module may differ between courses and also between students in a seminar, but must be of equal value. The total scope of the portfolios is regulated in the corresponding module descriptions. The lecturers announce the individual achievements at the beginning of the semester.
The portfolio is assessed with an overall grade. Your lecturers will inform you of the results of partial assessments and the weighting of the individual components. The partial assessments must be completed in the semester in which the course is attended.
If your portfolio covers two courses, the following also applies: Please register for the examination in HISQIS/ SELMA in the semester in which you start the portfolio.
in the semester in which you start the portfolio (i.e. before your first partial performance).
