Junior Professorship for Didactics of Romance Languages

The Junior Professorship for Didactics of Romance Languages focusses on the teaching and learning of the foreign languages French, Italian and Spanish (expiring).
The main questions of interest here are what competences pupils should have achieved and when, how young people learn a foreign language in the context of school and how teachers can contribute to promoting pupils' communicative, methodological and intercultural competences and motivating them to learn foreign languages. In addition to acquiring knowledge of foreign language didactics, the aim is for students to put their knowledge into practice by planning and implementing their own specialised lessons based on theory and reflecting on their experiences in a guided manner. Subject didactics is part of the teacher training programme and is aimed at prospective teachers.
