Study contents
In the Bachelor's programme, students acquire practical language skills. In addition to a confident command of a Slavic language (Polish, Russian, or Czech), you will learn another language at the level of elementary language proficiency.
Furthermore, you will acquire analytical, methodological and communicative competencies, and you will learn to analyse, reflect and explain linguistic, textspecific, cultural and socio-specific issues, mechanisms and structures. In the specialist disciplines, in the first year of your studies you will get an overview of the language, literature and culture of the respective Slavic countries. In the second and third years, you will deepen your knowledge in the area of 'Cultural Linguistics' or 'Philological Cultural Studies'.
Before submitting the Bachelor's thesis, a stay abroad of ten weeks has to be proven. Our partner network includes universities in Wroclaw, Poznan, Moscow, Ekaterinburg, Omsk, Prague and Alberta (Canadian Insitute of Ukrainian Studies).
