In 2012, the School of Engineering Sciences was founded as one of five schools at the TU Dresden, with the aim of strengthening interdisciplinary teaching and research, and creating units of sufficient size for decentralisation of finance and human resources responsibilities. The School of Engineering Sciences includes the faculties of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Computer Science, and Mechanical Science and Engineering.
