Highly motivated employees and many students work on practical solutions for medical technology at our institute. Here you will learn something about us and about what we can bring in future cooperations.
Studies

We offer interesting and future-oriented courses in the field of biomedical engineering, not only for the students of our faculty, but also for the students of the faculties of mechanical engineering, computer science, materials and natural sciences as well as economics. We cooperate closely with the Medical Faculty.
Research

Our research in medical technology is based primarily on basic electro-technical disciplines, such as sensing, signal and image processing, automation technology and mechatronics. The interdisciplinary fundamental and application-oriented research is carried out with close partners from the clinic, research and industry.

Institute of Biomedical Engineering

Welcome to the homepage of the Institute of Biomedical Engineering of the TU Dresden! The institute mainly teaches and researches electro- and information technology applications for medicine, also in close cooperation with the medical faculty "Carl Gustav Carus" of the TU Dresden. The aim is to develop practical systems that not only improve the existing hospital technology, but can also be used in a non-clinical environment in the future, while being small, mobile, preventive and even "stylish".
