Renewable Energy Systems
How can wind and solar energy be turned into electricity and heat? And which storage technologies are required for a regenerative age? - The Renewable Energy Systems degree program deals with these questions and many more.
Our energy supply urgently needs to abandon the use of fossil resources and switch to renewable and climate-friendly energy sources. However, this makes our energy supply more complex. The trend towards local and decentralized energy systems that are globally networked also leads to special engineering challenges. To master these challenges, engineers are needed who can develop, design, analyze, evaluate and optimize these complex energy systems. The Renewable Energy Systems degree program trains these important specialists for the future.
The degree course is run by the Faculty of Electrical and Computer Engineering and the Faculty of Mechanical Science and Engineering. It is interdisciplinary and combines the teaching content of the two faculties involved.
