Funding
ERASMUS mobility grant
Every student selected by the Faculty is entitled to the ERASMUS mobility grant, provided that you have not already received ERASMUS study funding: you can go abroad in Europe with Erasmus for up to two semesters per study phase (Bachelor, Master, PhD). To do this, you must complete the online form (= declaration of acceptance for the ERASMUS mobility grant), print it out, sign it and submit it to the ERASMUS subject coordinator for signature by mid-May at the latest. The declaration of acceptance and the Learning Agreement (Table A) form the basis for the transfer of the ERASMUS mobility grant. Please inform yourself in good time about the lecture periods at your host university so that you can specify the dates of your stay as precisely as possible so that the funding period can be determined correctly.
The mobility grant is awarded according to the following criteria:
- The duration of the grant is a minimum of 3 and a maximum of 12 months
- No tuition fees (for studies, enrollment, examinations, access to laboratories and libraries, etc.) are charged by the host institution for the agreed degree program. However, small fees may be charged for insurance, student union fees and the use of materials such as photocopies, laboratory equipment, etc., on the same basis as they are charged to local students;
- Payment of a mobility allowance, which is paid according to country groups
- The declaration of acceptance, signed by the ERASMUS coordinator, must be submitted to the TUD International Office by the end of May (can be sent by internal mail to the AAA by the ERASMUS coordinators).
- For the payment of the ERASMUS grant, a copy of the Learning Agreement signed by both universities must be submitted LATEST BY THE BEGINNING OF YOUR STUDY ABROAD STAY together with proof of enrollment at TU Dresden valid for the period of stay
- The mobility grant will be transferred by the International Office in two installments. In the first installment, after receipt of the fully signed Learning Agreement, 70% of the total grant will be transferred. Immediately after the end of the stay abroad, proof of the actual duration and content of the study stay must be submitted to the International Office, on the basis of which the remaining payment will be made
WITHDRAWAL
Please inform the ERASMUS Coordinator and the International Office immediately if you wish to withdraw from your ERASMUS place. By withdrawing late, you not only deprive subsequent candidates of the chance to take up the place, but also damage our good reputation with the partner universities.
Study abroad grant
Students can also apply for BAföG abroad for their ERASMUS stay abroad; even if you have not previously been granted BAföG in Germany, it may make sense to apply, as the basis for calculation is different. You should apply for BAföG abroad at an early stage (at least 6 months before the start of your stay abroad) at the responsible office for educational support (depending on the destination country). The local authority responsible for applying for funding abroad can be found on the following pages: http://www.auslandsbafoeg.de/.
Funding for students with children
As a student, you already have a child and have so far managed the balancing act between university studies and parenthood well. You would now like to take the plunge and go abroad with your child(ren). You can apply for ERASMUS special funding. These are paid out as lump sums and depend on the number of children and the destination country. Please contact the TUD International Office for further information. There you can find out more about the funding options and receive the application forms. Applications for special funding should be submitted to the TUD International Office at least 3 months before the start of your studies abroad.
Funding for students with disabilities
Disabled students can also take part in an ERASMUS study visit despite a health impairment and apply for additional funding. You can obtain the application forms from the International Office of the TUD. The application for additional funding should be submitted to the TUD International Office at least 3 months before the start of the study abroad program. Additional costs incurred by non-disabled students are eligible for funding. Only additional costs caused by the stay abroad that are not covered by national agencies (such as the Studentenwerk, health insurance companies, social welfare offices, regional associations/integration offices) can be subsidized, such as costs for travel to and from the destination, accommodation, local helpers or medical care.
