Immortality. This broad and multifaceted topic serves as the starting point for the development of a special exhibition at the Deutsche Hygienemuseum Dresden. This project marks the beginning of a collaboration with the museum and explores the theme from a range of different perspectives and research questions. Working closely with the curator, students analyse and structure this complex field, breaking it down into distinct thematic strands. These form the basis for the concept and design of interactive museum installations that make selected aspects of the topic tangible, engaging, and open to discussion.
The aim of the KP is to analyze the topic with regard to the design and development of an interactive museum installation and, based on this analysis, to create a conceptual prototype. This prototype is intended to serve as a foundation for further development and discussion.
Registration takes place via OPAL (please join the waiting list), while examination registration is handled through SELMA. Please note that the number of participants is limited. In the event of high demand, applicants will be selected according to the following priority:
- Applicants who submit a personal statement and work samples (2-3 works as a PDF or link) to Franziska Hannß

First Session: October 23
This course focuses on organizing the OUTPUT.DD event —the Faculty of Computer Science’s project showcase. Next year, the Faculty of Computer Science will present its 21th edition of the diverse OUTPUT.DD event. In recent years, new formats have been integrated into the event: Science Slam, poster submissions, and the OUTPUT Cinema. Now the goal is to institutionalize these new formats and generate exciting content. Of course, you won’t be generating this content yourselves; instead, you’ll work to recruit faculty researchers as participants through engaging and unconventional outreach efforts. So creativity, team spirit, and dedication are essential!
What is OUTPUT.DD?
The results of teaching and research by students and staff are showcased to a broad public. Visitors can expect installations, workshops, lectures, presentations, and exhibitions to discover, experience, and explore. In addition, OUTPUT.DD offers the opportunity to engage in conversations with local companies about exciting research questions.
Key FocusAreas:
- Recruiting projects from within the faculty / Providing insight into current research at the School of Computer Science
- Promoting the event through print media and social media
- Event planning and management
- Event design / exhibition design
Registration takes place via OPAL (please add your name to the waiting list); exam registration is via SELMA. However, the number of participants is limited. Therefore, to participate, you must submit a personal application with samples of your work (2–3 pieces as PDFs or links)to Franziska Hannß.
