Intermediate Diploma

Yes, you must have the pre-diploma certificate issued, as you must present it when applying for the issue of the diploma certificate. With the intermediate diploma, you prove that you have completed all of the intermediate diploma's activities.

Since the grades from the Foundation Studies are not included in the calculation of the overall grade of the Diplom examination and are therefore not listed on the final certificate, the intermediate diploma certificate also provides you with evidence of your grades from the Foundation Studies.

You apply for the issue of the intermediate diploma certificate using the form "Antrag auf Ausstellung des Vordiplomzeugnisses".

In general, of course, all the required achievements of the intermediate diploma must first be successfully completed, i.e. passed. The list of modules that are included in the intermediate diploma and will therefore appear on your certificate for the intermediate diploma can be found in Appendix 1 of the current examination regulations.

However, the intermediate diploma certificate (as well as the later diploma certificate) is not automatically issued. You must apply for it to be issued at the Examinations Office. Use the form "Antrag auf Ausstellung des Vordiplomzeugnisses.
