CIMTT Centre of Production Engineering and Management
The CIMTT was founded in 1991 as a CIM technology transfer center (CIM = Computer Integrated Manufacturing) as part of the project of the same name. The initial focus was on supporting Saxon companies with the introduction of modern CIM technologies. The work of the CIMTT as a transfer institution was continued as a Competence Center at the Faculty of Mechanical Science and Engineering after the project ended in 1995 (order dated 20.12.2007). The focus is on current topics in production engineering and technology development as well as in work organization and work design, from which the change of name to "CIMTT Center of Production Engineering and Management" was logically derived. For us, technology and knowledge transfer means first of all to make new research know-how quickly available to the economy, to support its dissemination and implementation in companies, and thus to contribute to their competitiveness.
Today, CIMTT's interdisciplinary team works in the areas of knowledge and technology transfer and conducts research into transfer formats and improving framework conditions. In addition, work design and work organization at the interface between people and technology are among the central research tasks.

We are currently working on various research projects in the areas of digitalization and AI in the world of work, team resilience, cross-border cooperation and bioeconomy. Since its foundation, the CIMTT has financed itself through the realization of research and transfer projects. Research projects at CIMTT are predominantly carried out in interdisciplinary collaborations between different departments - usually with the integration of small and medium-sized companies. We plan, support and evaluate projects from the outset and operate in a strong regional network between science and practice.
