CIMTT Centre of Production Engineering and Management
The CIMTT Centre of Production Engineering and Management is a competence center at the Faculty of Mechanical Science and Engineering and has its focus on knowledge and technology transfer. When it was founded in 1991, the center started to transfer CIM (Computer Integrated Manufacturing) technologies to medium-sized companies. The center sees itself as a technology and knowledge transfer partner between the university and small and medium-sized enterprises in the region.
For us, technology and knowledge transfer means first of all to make new research know-how quickly available to the economy, to support its dissemination and implementation in companies, and thus to contribute to their competitiveness.
An interdisciplinary team of transfer specialists with skills in the fields of work design, factory planning, production engineering, business administration, occupational psychology, sociology and media informatics offers comprehensive services in the preparation and management of joint research and development projects of SMEs with scientists of the TU Dresden. They range from support in the development of ideas through research on cost-effectiveness, the finding of suitable partners from science and practice, support in the application for funding, to the content and administrative implementation of the projects.
Our main fields of work are:
- research on transfer
- transfer of research results from different engineering disciplines
- work and organisation in companies
- factory planning / process optimisation
- knowledge management / lifelong learning for SMEs
- internet-based presentations / learning modules for education and training
