Successful doctoral defense of Dr.-Ing. Magdalena Heibeck

The defense of Madgalena Heibeck's dissertation entitled "Contribution to the recyclability assessment of multi-material structures with a focus on shredding processes" was a complete success on 10.02.2025. In her dissertation, she developed innovative methods that open up new perspectives in the field of multi-material recycling and represent an important step towards more sustainable recycling processes.

The work was carried out in close cooperation between the Helmholtz Institute Freiberg for Resource Technology (HIF) at the HZDR and the TU Bergakademie Freiberg. The dissertation was supervised by Prof. Markus Reuter (TU Bergakademie Freiberg) and Prof. Niels Modler (ILK), with valuable contributions from the third reviewer Holger Lieberwirth (TU Bergakademie Freiberg) and the additional examiner Prof. Maik Gude (ILK).

Ms. Heibeck's research contributes to the optimization of the recyclability assessment of multi-material structures and represents an important contribution to the promotion of a more sustainable use of resources. We look forward to the long-term impact of her work and her role in the further development of recycling technologies.
