Joint doctoral project with Politechnika Warszawska
The Technische Universität Dresden and the Politechnika Warszawska (Technical University of Warsaw) have signed an agreement on a joint doctoral project. In this cooperative project PhD students of the engineering sciences shall be jointly cared for. They will be able to research at the two locations and will receive direct access to the site-specific infrastructure. The subjects, working and residence plans are defined in so-called "Individual Agreements". The doctoral project leads into a German-Polish degree as Doctor of Engineering.
"It is our aim to provide the best possible care for the PhD students through the two partner universities and to arrange a better understanding of the respective research and exploitation cultures," said Professor Maik Gude, director of the Institute of Lightweight Engineering and Polymer Technology (ILK). "As a part of the internationalization of the TU Dresden we are raising our long-term cooperation and the existing relationship of trust with the Politechnika Warszawska to a new partnership level."
In the course of the overture event at the Technical University of Warsaw the project has been officially launched and the first two PhD students have been enrolled at the research area of lightweight engineering.
