Microalgal population dynamics related to changes of environmental conditions
Algae-based bioprocesses stands up as one of the most promising approaches for delivering effective keys to meet one of the great challenges facing humanity which is the quest for sustainable sources for chemicals and food.
In this context, the purpose of this project is to study and understand population dynamics of pure and mixed cultures in algae-based bioprocesses as a function of fluctuating abiotic factors in order to develop a microalgae growth model incorporating sub-population dynamics and able to predict outcomes of the bioprocesses at dynamic process conditions.
This project is part of the EU digitalgaesation project which aims to propose a digitalisation approach to optimising control and operation of microalgae cultivation processes.
