National and International Cooperations of our Institute

Beyond publicly funded projects, diverse bilateral research projects are being conducted at the Institute of Textile Machinery and High Performance Materials at TU Dresden (ITM); these projects are financed directly by industry, thus results are typically subject to confidentiality agreements. The research subjects being dealt with comprise the entire process chain of Textile and Ready-to-Wear Technologies at the ITM, including:
 

• Development of textile processes and mechanical engineering realization as prototypes
• Mechanical engineering solutions for technical textiles, particularly reinforcement textiles for lightweight construction and concrete reinforcement, medical textiles, textiles for automobiles, as well as protective textiles
• Development of process innovations and new machine designs as well as mechatronic solutions for textile and manufacturing machines
• Construction of textile and manufacturing machines designed to meet specific requirements; modeling and simulation of processes 
• Modeling and simulation of structures and units
• Experimental machine analysis and development of customized sensors and measuring systems
• Modeling and simulation textile (semi-finished) products
• Development, manufacture and analysis of innovative textile products (samples and small series, respectively)
• Realization of textile-related physical and chemical tests 
• Realization of (preliminary) studies regarding textile-specific subjects
• Analyses of trends and feasibility
• CAE courses for use in Textile and Ready-to-Wear Technology
• Advanced training courses comprising the entire process chain of textile products
• Creating expert analyses and opinions
