Apply now! Scholarships from the Lusatian Lignite Foundation

In 2025, the Lusatian Lignite Foundation will award scholarships to students who have a connection to Lusatia/Upper Lusatia and the regional economy in industry and commerce.

Priority is given to students from the following degree programs:

• Geosciences and geo-engineering
• Energy management
• Electrical engineering
• Computer science
• Mechanical Engineering
• Environmental engineering

Applicants for a scholarship from the foundation should be characterized by outstanding achievements, but also a high degree of university and/or social commitment. They must be enrolled at TU Dresden and be able to demonstrate a remaining standard period of study of two semesters.

The scholarship includes

• one-off funding of up to €6,000 (double funding is excluded)
• Assistance with the allocation of Master's or diploma topics
• Support in finding suitable company assignments or career entry opportunities

Application documents to be submitted:

• Cover letter explaining your particular motivation to study in accordance with the call for applications
• Curriculum vitae, including extracurricular interests and activities
• Letter of recommendation from the study institution (justification for selection)
• Transcript of records and certificate of enrollment

The application documents must be submitted in full to the Lusatian Lignite Foundation by January 20, 2025 . Suitable applicants will be invited to a 15-minute interview in February 2025. The Foundation Board will decide on the awarding of the scholarships.
