Looking back // ICOM-UMAC and UNIVERSEUM at TU Dresden
From September 24th and 29th, 2024, Dresden became the center of the international community for university collections and academic heritage. Colleagues from over 40 countries and all parts of the world came together at TU Dresden for the first joint annual conference of ICOM-UMAC and UNIVERSEUM European Academic Heritage Network, to discuss the impact of transformation processes on university heritage.
Under the title "Shaping Transformation. University Collections in a Changing World", 264 experts presented and explained, discussed and scrutinized the most current questions and challenges during 3 pre-conference workshops, 2 keynotes, 3 roundtables as well as 116 lectures and poster presentations. Two exhibition openings and more than 20 collection visits, tours and excursions invited participants to explore and admire the rich cultural and academic heritage of the city of Dresden. A selection of images taken during the event can be seen here.
The team of the Office for Academic Heritage, Scientific and Art Collections of TU Dresden would like to thank all participants for a stimulating, inspiring and enriching conference!
