Postponement of the joint meeting of Icom/UMAC and Universeum at TU Dresden // Digital meeting in September 2021

Due to the ongoing COVID-19-pandemic, the Boards of Universeum and UMAC decided together with the Office for Academic Heritage of TU Dresden, to postpone the physical conference at TU Dresden to a later date and to organize in 2021 a joint meeting, to be held exclusively online, between 1 and 3 September.

Both organizations and the Office for Academic Heritage of TU Dresden deeply regret the postponement of the physical meeting, but are very excited by the opportunities that an online conference provides, namely in terms of audiences, presentation formats, and worldwide access, both in the present and future. It’s a new experience for UMAC and Universeum.

 The theme of the digital conference of UMAC and Universeum 2021 will be “NEW OPPORTUNITIES – NEW CHALLENGES IN TIMES OF COVID-19”. Last year, the members shared their experiences of COVID-19 and its immediate impact on university museums and collections. In 2021, the conference will explore the related topics of of adaptability and resilience.  The Call for Proposals is already accessible here. You can propose papers, workshops and … for the first time, videos.  The boards of UMAC and Universeum are looking forward to your proposals.
