During the stay
Enrollment and administrative steps
After the arrival in France, the students will receive comprehensive support from the partner university, which also takes over the enrollment formalities. The students must remain enrolled at TU Dresden and have to re-register for the four semesters and to take leave of absence. It is possible by sending the corresponding form. Through the double degree agreement, the German students have to pay a semester fee only in Dresden (minus the transport ticket; the repayment of the student union fee can be applied after the re-registration).
Money and telephone
It is strongly advised to open a French account. The Bureau des leves (similar to The Student Representative) concludes a favorable offer with the bank, whereby the normal accounts usually are free of charge. The transfers from Germany to France and vice versa is free of charge with BIC and IBAN (according to the SEPA schemes).
Same advised is to get a mobile phone as soon as possible after the arrival in order to be able to contact the fellow students and friends. The large providers offer a prepaid tariff without a minimum turnover or a basic monthly charge; the mobile phone can be obtained in big supermarkets and electric shops.
Sport
For the sport activity, the medical examination in France is necessary (it is obligatory in the first year). For this purpose exists the Service universitaire de sant, where the students receive these certificates free of charge. With the CROCUS-accommodation the obligatory Certificat de non-contagion can be obtained there, likewise free of charge.
