What’s the optimal solution? In millions of years of evolution, nature sought out an endless variety of possibilities of how to pursue and create life. Each species is adapted to its very specialized niche. Architecture, Natural Sciences and Engineering can profit from this treasure to gather technical solutions to known and unknown problems.

In the Scientific Workshop ‘Bionics’, students identify biological structures and phenomena, and research their characteristics in terms of engineering, mathematics, design and of course biology itself. The focus is set on the transfer towards technical application and design. Within the seminar, the participating students gain the opportunity to develop their own scientific projects in small groups. These are supported and discussed with assisting experts throughout the semester.
