| Summary of Lecture: | In this lecture we discuss the physical properties of polymers under various levels of approximations and conditions: The ideal chain models, polymers in various implicit solvents, thermodynamics of adsorption on surfaces and polymer mixtures, polymer networks and dynamics. We will introduce theoretical approaches such as scaling theory, mean field theory and path integrals which lead to a qualitative and semi-quantitative understanding of polymeric systems. Finally we introduce a selection of numerical/computational approaches to polymeric systems. | ||||||
