Notes on the application process
If, at the time of application, proof of the first degree qualifying the applicant for a profession is not yet available, the application will be considered under the precondition that 80% of the credit points attainable for the degree have already been achieved based on completed module examinations or the final thesis and the colloquium (if applicable). You can find the appropriate form on the Admissions Office website.
General information about the degree program
Water, being the fundamental requirement for all life, has been part of the United Nations International Bill of Human Rights since 2010. However, global population growth, destruction of the environment, climate change, severe weather patterns and pollution are having an increasingly adverse impact on the availability and quality of water as a resource. In order to counter these negative influences, students in the Hydrology degree programme learn how to develop and implement application-orientated, innovative solutions for the sustainable management of natural water resources and for handling extreme events such as floods and droughts. State-of-the-art, high-performance computers with wide-ranging software as well as laboratory and field measurement systems are available to students.
