Looking back at the Long Night Against Procrastination 2019
2018
We are pleased about the active participation in our event “Long Night against Procrastination 2018”, which was carried out according to the motto "together we shake off the chains of procrastination". About 160 writers - students, doctoral students and lecturers - set off to the SLUB on 1st March to write together from 6 p.m. until midnight. Even during the welcoming of the event in the lecture hall, a classic writing method was used to warm up the audience, desk yoga in a large circle loosened the spirit and limbs and international students were swept up in the momentum of the joint writing night by simultaneous translation and offers in English language.

Sufficient desks were reserved in the library's large reading room for the beginning, continuing or even completing of writing projects, while writing counselling for students and doctoral students took place in front of the lecture hall. Open offers in the lecture hall, such as the writing process walk, group desks, helpdesks for Word, Excel, LaTex and the speed dating service to find a suitable writing or learning group, opened up a wide range of ideas to keep on top of all things to do with writing.
If the writers were hit by a writing slump, they could draw inspiration from 15 impulse workshops on scientific writing. In the end, it was perhaps the stimulating conversation over an evening soup or a late-night coffee that led back to the central theme of the writing project.

We are already looking forward to the next “Long Night against Procrastination” event with you, which will take place in 2019 again on the first Thursday of March, just like every year!
