Teaching and research are central design areas at TU Dresden - and also important levers for inclusive university development. Inclusion is not seen as a special topic, but as a perspective that enriches teaching content, research questions and academic practice.
Teaching and research opportunities in the field of inclusion
- Chair of Education / Inclusive Education with a focus on the theoretical and practical anchoring of inclusive educational concepts
- Chair of Human-Computer Interaction Design of technical systems taking into account different sensory and motor accesses
- Chair of Social and Health Buildings Research into spatial and structural conditions for social participation and accessibility
- QuaBIS - Qualification of education and inclusion officers in Saxony Further education program to promote inclusive thinking in educational contexts
- Inclusive teaching and learning space Interdisciplinary experimental space for research-based formats such as video research, escape rooms and transfer projects - for the development of inclusive spatial and teaching concepts.
Service and support offers
TU Dresden supports lecturers in making their courses more accessible and diversity-sensitive:
- designing accessible documents - instructions for support and tips for designing accessible documents (e.g. PowerPoint, Word, PDF)
- Support for the provision of accessible documents and media (teaching materials) by AG Services Behinderung und Studium (AG SBS)
- Fundus Inklusion - self-learning offer for reflection and further development of inclusive teaching methods
- TU DresdenWriting Center Support for academic writing - inclusive thinking, taking into account neurodivergent needs (e.g. ADHD, dyslexia, dyscalculia).
- Guide to barrier-free university teaching Practical orientation for the diversity-sensitive design of courses
- Inclusion teaching and learning space: Enables analog and digital experimentation with inclusive teaching and learning approaches
- #Diklusion: Promotion of inclusive digital learning and teaching through the "Digital Learning and Teaching" fund
- Inclusion lending pool: TU Dresden's lending pool offers a wide selection of accessible materials structured according to categories such as mobility, visual and auditory support, workplace design, or communication
Further education & qualification
- Center for Continuing Education (ZfW) A wide range of continuing education formats on diversity, inclusion, and equal opportunity university development - including workshops and advice for teaching staff.
- German sign language courses: An offer from Diversity Management: these courses are designed to raise awareness of visual language and inclusive communication. There are online and face-to-face courses for employees and students.
- Inclusion teaching and learning space Workshops, seminars, and microteaching formats on inclusion, diversity, and digitalization - for student teachers, teaching staff, and university staff.
