HPC status conference 2024
High-performance and supercomputing for science and industry in Germany
From April 24 to 26, 2024, the ZIH of TU Dresden and the Gauß-Allianz e.V. - in close cooperation with the BMBF - invite you to the 13th HPC Status Conference.
As a platform for interdisciplinary exchange and networking, the conference on the TU Dresden campus offers an interesting program on current research activities and issues in high performance computing in the areas of infrastructures, methods and applications.

Program
A central focus of the agenda will be the current research projects in the two ongoing BMBF funding measures "New methods and technologies for exascale high-performance computing - SCALEXA" and "Energy-efficient high-performance computing - GreenHPC" in the program "High-performance and supercomputing for the digital age 2021 to 2024 - Research and investment in high-performance computing".
The numerous links between the HPC community and AI research in Germany will also be highlighted at the conference. This part of the program will be organized by ScaDS.AI Dresden/Leipzig in close cooperation with the other national AI competence centers.

Festive Hall "Dülfersaal" TU Dresden
The Dülfersaal is located on the Dresden campus of the University of Technology
in the southern suburb of Dresden.
It is the festive hall of the old canteen. At the entrance, you can find the registration desk and get your badges there.

By train
The central long-distance train stations in Dresden are Dresden-Hauptbahnhof, Dresden-Neustadt and Dresden-Mitte.
Ideally, Dresden's main train station (Dresden-Hbf) is the best place to go. This is a 30-minute walk or 8-minute bus ride from the lecture hall center.

By car
The A4, A13, A14, A17 motorways connect nearby cities with Dresden. You can reach the Dülfersaal directly via the federal road B170.
In Case, that you arrive by car, we would like to advise you that there are no larger central parking facilities on the TUD premises. The capacities of the nearby roadsides of the secondary roads (Helmholzstraße, Hettnerstraße or George-Bähr-Straße) are limited. It is therefore best to use public transportation.

The TU Dresden has been one of the German Universities of Excellence since 2012. It offers a wide range of courses at 18 faculties and covers a wide range of research.
The ZIH is responsible for the communication infrastructure of the TU Dresden and operates the central IT infrastructure services and servers. In addition, as an interdisciplinary center, it supports the faculties in all IT-related areas. As a competence center for high-performance computing and big data, the ZIH provides special resources for HPC and data analysis and offers support and advice for this. The focus is on supporting users in optimizing scientific applications and developing new methods for solving scientific and technical research questions. The ZIH carries out extensive research and development work and is networked nationally and internationally.
