Digital Change – Skills for the Work of Tomorrow: Dr. Peter Geissler & Samuel Reeb (#SR1)
Format
Synchronous online course with lecture, seminar and project components, asynchronous project group work
Keywords
Digital transformation, change management, digital group work, organization development, case study work
Description
The course “Digital change” combines theory with real-life problems and experiences. Students explore digital change based on examples of fictitious companies. The student groups form project teams to introduce a new software and explore topics such as change management and digital literacy. The course is split into two parts: synchronous lessons at fixed times (see the consolidation plan for more information) and asynchronous group work to be coordinated individually.
The course incorporates interactive lecture formats to supplement theoretical fundamentals with novel ideas, which are then consolidated in practical group workshops. The goal of the workshops is for students to work as a team to discuss knowledge of theory, apply this to specific problems and transfer what they come to understand to their example companies. The outcomes are subsequently presented and discussed with the entire class.
A group work phase of two weeks follows each course, where the students consolidate the content on their own, substantiate it with other theoretical content and apply it in practice. Their work is then made available as a video presentation to be viewed and discussed by other course participants.
