Goal of the online format during the Covid-19 pandemic:

The learning process should be:

• Spread out across the entire semester
• Supported by modern digital tools
• Shaped by guided individual experiences

Challenges:

• A lot of images and drawings were needed for the machinery and designs
• 3D visualization and 3D understanding were required
• Difficulties, foundations and rules for the proper handling of flexible materials are easier to learn through a hands-on approach; a purely theoretical approach is ineffective
• Specialized CAD software required expensive licenses that students therefore did not have access to at home
