The Media Center is a central scientific institution of the TU Dresden and consists of five departments:

According to the policy of management and operation of the Media Center, which was confirmed on June 6, 2009, it is understood as a research center as well as a service provider. The Media Center has been found in April 2008 by a merger of the Media Design Center (MDC) and the Audiovisual Media Center (AVMZ).
