A-LB 330 (A-AD 973) Introduction to Landscape and Spatial Planning

Table of contents
The lectures are also offered in the compulsory elective area of the Architecture degree program (A - AD 973 Introduction to Spatial and Landscape Planning), the Master's degree program in Spatial Development and Natural Resources and Renewable Energy Systems (RES-WK-51). The exercises are compulsory for students of landscape architecture and architects. There are two different series of exercises. Passing the module creates the prerequisite for landscape architects to participate in module A-LB 410 Project Landscape Planning.
Course content
- Introduction to the tasks and contents of spatial planning and landscape planning,
- History of spatial planning and landscape planning & legal foundations,
- Overview of the environmental assets to be considered in landscape planning and the available planning bases,
- System of overall spatial planning and sectoral planning, responsibilities,
- Overview of the instruments in the field of spatial and landscape planning and their areas of application,
- Current environmental problems and landscape planning solutions,
- Overview of environmental assessment instruments,
- Consideration of current trends and planning-relevant topics and their impact on the planning system

Performance requirements
The credit points for the module A-LB 330 Introduction to Spatial and Landscape Planning are earned if the written examination is passed. The prerequisite for participation in the written examination for landscape architecture students and for architecture students (A- AD 973 Introduction to Spatial and Landscape Planning) is passing the exercise results. Students taking the course as part of the RES-WK-51 module attend the lecture and take the written examination. Students on the Master's degree course in Spatial Development and Natural Resource Management also attend the lecture and take the written examination.
Organizational matters
In WS 2024-25 the lectures will take place in presence again. The exercises for landscape architects and architects as well.
All students should register for the module in the OPAL course. Only there you will find the updated schedules for lectures and exercises. In the OPAL course you will also find handouts, clips on the lectures and for later exam preparation, as well as video clips to listen to with the most important definitions of terms.
