RodBreak – Wave run-up, overtopping and damage in rubble-mound breakwaters under oblique extreme wave conditions (EU-Initiative HYDRALAB +)
As part of the European Hydralab + program, wave run-up and wave overflow at dumped breakwaters were physically examined and damage processes caused by extreme events and taking into account the rise in sea water levels were documented. The hydraulic model tests were carried out in 2017 in the wave pool of the Ludwig Franzius Institute at Leibniz Universität Hannover with the participation of employees from the professorship for technical hydromechanics with project partners from Portugal, the Netherlands and Spain.
