Besides the overall system of the electric railways, the electric vehicle and the power supply, our research focuses are the power management and power requirement determination, the calculating procedure, the train drive topology as well as modelling and simulation.

The research focuses of the chair of Electric Railways are, besides the subsystems electric vehicle and power supply, particularly the overall system. The focus is not only on electric railways, but also on electric local area traffic, unconventional train systems and electric road transport.

Besides education and research, the chair offers further education and the performance of measurement projects in the field of electric transport systems.
