Overview of the tracks and railway stations
In the laboratory, the interaction of the technical components of infrastructure, interlockings and vehicles as well as the actions of the operating and driving personnel may be demonstrated and retraced at various types of railway stations. An extensive H0 model railway layout and an interlocking simulation are available for this purpose.
Overview and situation of the stations:
Station | Situation |
---|---|
Bf Adorf | Station with 5 tracks on an electrified double-track line and the beginning of a single-track, non-electrified line to Grüntal. |
Bf Dornbach | Station with 4 tracks on the single-track, non-electrified line from Zellwald and Grüntal. |
Bk Feldberg | Block station on the single-track line between Adorf and Grüntal. |
Abzw Grüntal | Junction with stop on the single-track line. |
Abzw Crottendorf | Branch station with stop on the single-track line Grüntal - Schwarzburg and the branching spur line to Moorhof. |
Bf Schwarzburg | Station with 2 tracks and terminus of the line from Grüntal. Technically, the two station tracks are tied through to the staging yard. During operation, the trains from Moorhof and Grüntal end here and turn around. |
Bk Moorhof | Single-track stop on the spur line from Crottendorf. |
Bk Klausenburg | Block station on the electrified double-track main line between Adorf and Zellwald. |
Bf Neustadt | Station with 3 tracks on the high-speed line with local service area and loading point for the "rolling road". |
Bf Waldhof | Interchange station on the Strasbourg - Seitschen high-speed line and the Talheim - Eisenberg extension line with large storage areas and a container loading terminal. |
Bf Zellwald | Station with 5 tracks on an electrified double-track line and end of a single-track, non-electrified, line from Grüntal. |
Uz Bischofswerda of the Bz Leipzig (Dresden-Neustadt – Bautzen) |
Virtual continuation of the high-speed line from Neustadt station. |
Explanation: Abzw – Abzweigstelle (junction); Bf – Bahnhof (railway station); Bk – Blockstelle (block post); Bz – Betriebszentrale (signal control central); Uz – Unterzentrale (sub central)
The operation and interlocking simulation (BEST) is integrated into the overall system by telegram exchange between Neustadt station and the staging yard.
The automatic staging yard takes over the tasks of the initial/final stations of all lines. It is operated solely by the station computer. It controls the entry of trains into the system according to the timetable or in accordance with predefined disruption scenarios.
