Professorship for Biophysics
We investigate the organization and function of cell interfaces across scales. We combine molecular reconstitutions with quantitative microscopy to study cell interfaces from the bottom up and in living tissues. Click on Research to visit our official website.
Our research
Biological membranes are fascinating composites of lipids, proteins and sugars. Our aim is to understand how the molecular components self-organize into meso-scale complexes that control processes as adhesion, polarization, signaling / sensing, which underlie morphogenesis of cells and tissues.
