The Faculty Board, chaired by the Dean, is the central decision-making body in the Faculty.

Meeting dates of the Faculty Board:
Meetings usually start at 13:15 on the 3rd Wednesday of the month.
Currently the meetings are hybrid. They usually begin with a faculty-public part. Minutes of the public part of the meeting can be found on OPAL.

Contributions to the agenda must be submitted to the Dean's Office at least one week before the next meeting date so that they can be dealt with by the committee members in good time.
Tasks and responsibilities
The Saxon Higher Education Freedom Act stipulates the following responsibilities of the Faculty Board in §93 SächsHSG :
(1) The Faculty Board is responsible for all matters of fundamental importance to the Faculty, in particular for:
- the enactment of study and examination regulations,
- the enactment of the doctoral and habilitation regulations,
- proposals for the establishment, abolition and amendment of degree programs,
- the coordination of research projects,
- proposals for target agreements between the Faculty and the University Executive Board,
- opinions of the faculty on target agreements between the university and the State Ministry of Science and the Arts,
- the safeguarding of its range of courses and the planning of the range of courses in accordance with the faculty's development plan,
- Evaluation procedures in accordance with § 9,
- Proposals for the preparation of structural and development plans for the faculty,
- participation in the drafting of the university's business plan,
- commenting on the use of positions and funds allocated to the faculty,
- the implementation of student advisory services,
- appointments to appointment committees and proposals for the job description of university teaching positions.
