Activities
In the LernLaborFarbe, children of preschool and primary school age have the opportunity to take on the role of researchers and answer questions about light and color. Experiments suitable for children as well as assistance from our students and staff support the young researchers in their discoveries.

In our lab, students from general and vocational schools can conduct selected projects on various topics under the guidance of our staff. The projects aim to provide an approach to interdisciplinary working, while at the same time offering the opportunity to better get to know TU Dresden, its special collections, and individual degree programs.

In the LLF, students of the teacher training degree programs learn to develop interdisciplinary teaching and learning concepts, to test them with school students, and to evaluate them. The development of theses concepts takes place in interdisciplinary teams, which substantiates the approach of research-oriented studying.

In addition to these activities, the LernLaborFarbe also offers continuing education events for teachers and educators. There, we present and share didactic concepts and content-related expertise regarding color and light, preparing them professionally for use in schools, daycare centers, and after-school care centers. This includes both a multitude of illustrative experiments and their backgrounds as well as methodological reflections.

We strive for the LLF to increasingly become a meeting place for both students from various disciplines and experts from science and industry. In this way, the lab can actively contribute to the establishment of cooperations, and it offers opportunities for the exchange of ideas. Potential cooperations could primarily include the degree programs in art history, art technology, conservation and restoration of art and cultural assets, media studies, sociology, Protestant and Catholic theology, history, architecture, and physics.
Due to these cooperations, students are confronted with interdisciplinary research questions, which allows them to explore the potentials and limits of the respective disciplinary cultures. Additionally, the lab opens up the possibility for representatives of the industry to introduce themselves and to actively participate.
