How is the degree program structured?

The standard period of study for Teacher Training for Elementary Schools is 8 semesters and it covers various areas:

  • Your chosen subject (core subject) and related teaching methodologies
  • Elementary school didactics
  • Educational sciences (primary education, pedagogy and psychology)
  • School practice studies
  • Supplementary area for individual specializations
  • The first State Examination

Studies in these areas will provide students with a first degree qualifying them to pursue a professional career and to enter the practical training phase in schools (Referendariat).
