Courses

Courses for the summer semester 25 start on Monday, April 7, 2025. Tutorials start on April 14, 2025. Further information and updates on the academic year can be found here.

The current timetable and course directory can be found at the top of this page. There you will also find all information on the schedule (weekly or as a block course) and format (in presence, hybrid, online). Teaching in the summer semester 2025 is mainly planned in presence. Some courses occasionally offer hybrid or online dates.

Enrolment

Enrolment for courses will take place as usual via OPAL.

You can register for seminars from March 24 to April 4, 2025.

You can register for lectures from March 24, 2025.

• Enrolment in lectures and seminars is open to all students; you will not receive an invitation. Please follow the instructions on Opal and only enrol in courses that are scheduled for your semester. Exceptions apply to students who have to catch up on examinations from previous semesters.
• Enrolment in courses that you have to attend as part of your supplementary area, other major subjects or compulsory elective areas is not organized via the IfK. Please get in touch with the contact persons at the Institutes offering the courses.
• Enrolment in the lectures "Introduction to Methods of Empirical Social Research" and "Statistics" is organized via the Center for Methods in the Social Sciences (ZSM). Further information can be found on the ZSM course page. You can enrol for the tutorials via the IfK's OPAL service.
• Enrolment by e-mail is not possible. If you have any problems or questions regarding OPAL enrolment, please send an email to opal.kowi@mailbox.tu-dresden.de stating your matriculation number and matriculation number :
  • Your matriculation number and
  • the study regulations according to which you are studying.

Students who require a certificate of participation or achievement (within the framework of AQUA and studium generale) should contact the AQUA representative of the IfK at the end of the semester. In order to receive a certificate of attendance, an attendance list (with signatures of the lecturers) must be kept. Final theses

For the registration of theses (Bachelor's or Master's thesis), please send your completed registration forms directly to the Examination Office and contact your first supervisor CC.

Consultation hours

Consultation hours are offered by prior arrangement in presence or, in exceptional cases, by telephone/telex (e.g. e-mail, telephone, video conferencing tools).
