Special collection - Political Education in Schools
Because we have found that many teachers are also interested in our evening school and, moreover, many initiatives of extracurricular political youth education cooperate with schools, we have put together pieces in this collection that are also and particularly relevant for school education.
THE SITE IS STILL UNDER CONSTRUCTION
Lecture no. 1 - coming soon
School: what is it and does it have to be?
The first piece we present in this collection is a thought-provoking piece that attempts to take another look at the educational mission of schools and to consider what could be done to better fulfill this mission
Lecture No. 2
Political education in schools
The second piece we are presenting in this collection is very simply entitled "Political education and schools". It looks at the school system from the perspective of extracurricular civic education and thus makes the basic structures of civic education accessible in a vivid way.
Lecture no. 3
How participation can succeed
Democracy should not only be taught at school, but also practiced. However, this is not so easy in this context. This piece is about dealing with obstacles, but also with the conditions for successful participation.
Lecture no. 4
Which kind of citizens does the country need?
And what does this have to do with political education?
This lecture deals with the question of the goals of civic education. This question is often based on the question of citizens' role models and is quite controversial. Anja Besand summarizes the key points here.
